Bottom: Guttentag, McCoy, Westley and Zandi Subprime mortgage lending was the subject of this Hudson research roundtable. Economist Mark Zandi of Moody's economy.com presented a grim outlook for the mortgage and housing markets over the next two years. Major policy changes were advocated, and debated vigorously, by Patricia McCoy of the University of Connecticut Law School and Emeritus Professor Jack Guttentag of the University of Pennsylvania. The event was cosponsored by Hudson Institute, the Homer Hoyt Institute, the Institute for Urban Research at the University of Pennsylvania, and the Institute for Public Policy at George Washington University. The sponsors saw the event as the first stage in developing a research agenda to promote an informed public policy response to the subprime debacle, on both the national and local level.
