Hudson Institute held discussion of the recently published book The Chosen: The History of an Idea, and the Anatomy of an Obsession with its author Avi Beker and commentator Hillel Fradkin. Hudson CEO, Kenneth Weinstein, introduced.  In his new book, Beker addresses the contemporary revival of anti-Semitism and its implications through a focus on the Biblical notion of the chosen, its primary meaning and its historical fate.

Beker, an Israeli diplomat by training who taught diplomacy at Tel Aviv University and founded Israel's Council on Foreign Relations, is currently Goldman Visiting Professor at Georgetown University. Fradkin, who directs Hudson's Center on Islam, Democracy and the Future of the Muslim World, taught Jewish, Christian and Islamic political philosophy at Columbia, Yale and the University of Chicago.
