The Future of the Muslim Brotherhood
Tuesday, April 28, 2009 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Colonial Room Mayflower Hotel 1127 Connecticut Ave, NW Washington, DC 20036
A number of recent developments—the rise of an Islamist government in Gaza, the 'Islamic turn' in Turkish political life, Iran's new assertiveness, ongoing tensions between Shia and Sunni, and al-Qaeda's setbacks in Iraq and other places in the Arab world—have dramatically affected the operating environments and internal dynamics of Islamist political movements in the Middle East and elsewhere.
How will the Muslim Brotherhood, one of the oldest and most important of all modern Islamist movements, respond to these developments in this new era?
To explore this question, Hudson Institute hosted an all-day conference on Tuesday, April 28, 2009. The conference was held in the Colonial Room of the Mayflower Hotel.
