Tiananmen Square: Twenty Years LaterJune 4, 2009, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM - Washington, D.C. Area
Michael Horowitz WASHINGTON, June 4 — Michael Horowitz spoke on the West Lawn of Capitol Hill at a rally for the twentieth anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre in China. Horowitz, a Senior Fellow and Director of the Project for International Religious Liberty at Hudson Institute, spoke about his hope for China to become a free democracy in his grandchildren's lifetimes.
The demonstrators who came to the West Lawn reminded Horowitz that all Americans are children of immigrants and that the United States was built by individuals and families who fled countries where certain freedoms did not — and still do not — exist.
