![]() Shea, Hon. Gatkuoth, and Winter Hon. Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth Sudan is facing one of the most critical periods in its history. The 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement provides for national elections, which are scheduled for April 2010, and culminates with a referendum on secession for Southern Sudan in January 2011. Genocide and crimes against humanity continue in the Darfur region, for which the International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant against Sudan's President, Omar Al-Bashir. Hon. Gatkuoth and Mr. Winter discussed these and other important events.
