Hudson Institute Releases Volume III of Current Trends in Islamist Ideology

March 27, 2006
by Eric Brown , Hillel Fradkin

Hudson Institute’s Center on Islam, Democracy and the Future of the Muslim World has announced the publication of the third volume of Current Trends in Islamist Ideology, the nation’s only journal devoted to research and analysis of the worldwide radical Islamist movement.

Policymakers and journalists from the U.S. to Europe, and from India to Indonesia, have come to rely on Current Trends as an invaluable resource.

Current Trends is edited by Dr. Hillel Fradkin, a Hudson senior fellow and student of the late Muslim theologian Fazlur Rahman; Boston University professor Husain Haqqani, a distinguished Pakistani journalist and diplomat; and by Eric Brown, a Hudson Institute analyst specializing in Europe and Asia.

Each issue of the journal draws on an international consortium of contributing scholars and writers to provide in-depth and cutting edge analysis of the ideologies and activities of Islamist and radical Islamist movements around the world.

The third issue features reports on the recent electoral victory of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, the Zawahiri-Zarqawi communiqué, and the ongoing strategic and ideological disputes within the global salafi-jihadi movement. It also includes country-specific assessments of Islamist movements in India, Bangladesh, and Malaysia.

The latest and previous issues of Current Trends in Islamist Ideology are available online at the center's newly launched website, www.futureofmuslimworld.com.
