October 9, 2008
by Hudson Institute

Washington—Hudson Institute experts are available for interviews to discuss America's economic situation, including the banking and credit crises, the economic bailout, and the national and global implications of the economic downturn.

Diana Furchtgott-Roth, former chief economist at the Labor Department, is Director of Hudson's Center for Employment Policy and writes frequently on the economy and economic trends. She has recently provided commentary on the economy for Fox News, CNN, the BBC, NPR, and many other outlets. Her most recent article gave an opposing perspective on the government's bailout.

Irwin Stelzer is Director of Economic Policy Studies at Hudson, and writes weekly economics columns for the Sunday Times of London and other outlets. He has recently appeared on Sky News, Fox, the BBC, CNBC, and many other outlets. Stelzer's most recent column focused on Europe's reaction to America's economic difficulties.

John Weicher, former Federal Housing Commissioner at the Department of Housing and Urban Development, is Director of Hudson's Center for Housing and Financial Markets. A conference Weicher convened on subprime mortgages in February 2007 presciently predicted the subprime meltdown. Weicher has written for the Weekly Standard and the Wall Street Journal and recently appeared on Fox Business Channel.

Hudson Senior Fellow Rod Hunter formerly served as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director at the National Security Council. His expertise includes international economics, including trade, finance, investment, energy, and the environment. He has written for the Wall Street Journal and other publications and given commentary to many news outlets, including BBC, C-TV, and France 24.

Hudson President Herbert London has commented extensively on the economic bailout. He has given commentary to CNBC, the BBC, and many other outlets.
