WASHINGTON — Private giving and remittances are helping developing countries weather the economic storm, according to the new 2010 Index of Global Philanthropy and Remittances, published by Hudson Institute's Center for Global Prosperity (CGP).
The Center's director, Dr. Carol Adelman, will present the 2010 findings at the Index's fifth-year launch event. Former USAID Administrator Andrew Natsios will keynote the event, examining the significant shift in the international aid system from the public sector to the private sector, and the implications of this shift on how aid programs are managed.
