WASHINGTON—Hudson Institute, the future-oriented policy research organization based in Washington, is pleased to announce that Christopher DeMuth will be joining Hudson on January 2, 2012 as a Distinguished Fellow. DeMuth, currently the D. C. Searle Senior Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), will pursue research on government regulation, competition, and law and economics at Hudson Institute.
DeMuth, who led AEI as President from 1986–2008, is widely recognized as a pioneer in the think tank sector, transforming AEI into one of the world's leading policy research organizations.
"My colleagues and I are delighted that Chris DeMuth is joining Hudson Institute. He brings an unparalleled depth of knowledge and experience, in the world of regulation, and beyond, to the manner in which ideas come to shape policy," said Kenneth Weinstein, President and CEO of Hudson Institute. "I can think of no better way to culminate Hudson's 50th-anniversary year than by adding DeMuth to our growing constellation of scholars."
A graduate of Harvard College and the University of Chicago Law School, DeMuth served in the Reagan administration as Administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs in the Office of Management and Budget and Executive Director of the Presidential Task Force on Regulatory Relief. Previously he was a lecturer in public policy at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, where he directed the Harvard Faculty Project on Regulation. The former Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of Regulation magazine, DeMuth's articles on regulation and other subjects have appeared in National Affairs, The Public Interest, The Harvard Law Review, The Yale Journal on Regulation, and other publications.
