Adjunct Fellow
Mr. Balfe is an Adjunct Fellow at the Hudson Institute. He consults primarily to the Office of Net Assessment in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, with a focus on the national security implications of economic and ideological contest. He has advised several governmental entities on the implications of various forms of economic warfare. He also advises selected corporations in the aerospace and defense sector on strategic transactions.
Previously, Mr. Balfe started and headed Lazard Frères' Anglo-American defense and aerospace practice; headed the investment banking operations of Troika Dialog and UFG in Russia; and, managed the Asia and financial products investment banking practice of the New York office of Robert Fleming, a leading UK investment bank.
He received an A.M. from Princeton University and his A.B. with high honors from the University of California, Berkeley.
