Yoji Ohashi was born in 1940 in Jiamusi, Heilongjiang Province, in China. In 1964, Mr. Ohashi graduated from the faculty of law at Keio University, and in the same year joined All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd. (ANA). In 1993, Ohashi was named to the board of ANA as Senior Director. After serving as General Manager, Narita Airport Office, Ohashi spent two years at ANA’s New York office as Senior Vice President and General Manager, responsible for The Americas. On his return to Japan, Ohashi was promoted to the position of Executive Vice President where he was responsible for Personnel, Purchasing and Facilities, Associated Business Development and Marketing. After 2 years’ service as Senior Executive Vice President, Marketing and Sales, he was appointed to the position of President and CEO in 2001. Not only did he succeed in resuming dividend payments for the first time in seven years, but he also improved the company’s marketing prowess under the banner of becoming the No. 1 Airline in Asia. He also strengthened the company’s financial position. Ohashi has served as Chairman since April 2005, the year that ANA achieved its highest profit on record.

In addition to his most distinguished career at ANA, Ohashi served as Chairman, Committee on Employment, at the Japanese business organization Nippon Keidanren for two years from 2004. Since May 2006, he serves as Co-Chairman, Committee on Promotion of Economic Partnerships, under the new leadership of Nippon Keidanren. Ohashi has concurrently served as Chairman, Committee on NPO and Social Entrepreneur, at Japan Association of Corporate Executives, or Keizai Doyukai, since 2004. Ohashi took on the position of President of Asian Forum Japan in April 2006.
