The Interactive Map of Philanthropic Freedom

Jesse N. Barnett

Ranking countries on their enabling environment for philanthropy, the Interactive Map of Philanthropic Freedom visualizes the results of the Center for Global Prosperity’s 2015 edition of the Index of Philanthropic Freedom. By mousing over and clicking on countries, viewers can evaluate countries based upon 1) barriers to NGO formation/registration, operations, and dissolution; 2) tax and fiscal incentives; and 3) barriers to cross-border philanthropic flows. To view a country-specific report on philanthropic freedom, first select the desired country, and then click “View the country report”. To learn more about how scores were calculated, mouse over the score or view the methodology on page 42 of the Index.
