Hudson Institute thanks Prime Minister Abe for his longstanding efforts to deepen the Japan-US relationship, and for his personal friendship to Hudson. In receiving Hudson's Herman Kahn Award seven years ago, Mr. Abe chose to announce a significant shift in Japanese policy: "Japan will contribute to the peace and stability of the region and the world even more proactively than before.” Under PM Abe's unprecedented leadership, Japan has achieved great success in those objectives. We wish him the best.
