Biography

Paul Sracic is an adjunct fellow at Hudson Institute. His work focuses on trade policy and US-Japan relations. 

Dr. Sracic is also professor of politics and international relations at Youngstown State University. He also serves as senior advisor to Logos Group International, a business consulting firm in Columbus, Ohio. 

Dr. Sracic has authored or co-authored three books on American politics and law, and is a frequent contributor to national and international media. He served as the in-studio analyst for the Japanese international broadcast station NHK World Japan during their coverage of the 2020 US election and the midterm elections of 2018 and 2022. 

Dr. Sracic has twice been named a Fulbright Scholar in Japan, serving as a visiting professor at the University of Tokyo, Waseda University, Sophia University, Yokohama National University, and Kyoritsu Women’s University. In addition, he has lectured at universities throughout Europe and Asia, including Peking University and Beijing Foreign Studies University in China, Chungbuk University in South Korea, Trinity College in Ireland, Vilnius University in Lithuania, Riga Stradins University in Latvia, Sofia University in Bulgaria, University of Leuven in Belgium, the University of Malta, and the University of Florence and the University of Milan in Italy. 

He has also given talks at the Diplomatic Roundtable at the Japan Forum on International Relations, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Institute of International and European Affairs, and at US embassy facilities in Brussels, Dublin, Tokyo, Beijing, and Rome. 

Dr. Sracic received his PhD in political science from Rutgers University and BA in economics and political science from Albright College.
