General (Ret.) John Hyten served as the eleventh vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
General (Ret.) John Hyten served as the eleventh vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff before retiring in 2021. Previously, he led US Strategic Command from 2016 to 2019 and Air Force Space Command from 2014 to 2016. He served as a commissioner on the 2023 US Strategic Posture Commission.
